Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Agronomist to join an established Fresh Produce business, who supply the UK retailers with an excellent standard of Fruit products. This Agronomist role offers a great opportunity to join a key player in the industry, and become an integral part of the Agronomy team.

Reporting to the Agronomy Manager, the Agronomist will ensure agronomic best practice is applied across the supply base. Regular crop walking & identification of crop health issues in terms of pest and disease, crop nutrition status & feeds, to manage plant health should be advised where necessary. Advise growers on irrigation requirements, crop production planning, new varieties available, and keep growers informed of developments around their crops that may affect their success of growing Fruit & yields. 

With the encouragement of growers to gain BASIS & FACTS certifications, it would be most advantageous for this individual to have knowledge of both, with experience of the Fresh Produce industry, and ideally Fruit. A full driving licence is essential, due to travel to growers / farms.
