Overview

Our Client is a highly regarded, fast-growing business supplying Fresh Produce to the UK retailers. Due to growth, they are currently seeking a Sales & Buying Manager to join the business in a new role, at a key time.

Responsible to the Senior Buying Manager and Senior Account Manager,  this Sales & Buying Manager will predominantly be procurement focused, with some exposure to commercial / account management, ultimately ensuring products are supplied correctly, and on time. Suppliers will be reviewed regularly, with the best value negotiated for the business, and the highest quality product sourced & supplied. With the advantage of managing some smaller accounts within the business, this role offers autonomy, and variety, being a key member of the team.

We are seeking an experienced individual from the Fresh Produce sector, having worked within a similar Procurement / Commercial role with Fruit knowledge, and previous experience of supplying to the retailers being advantageous. With an understanding of the global seasonal effects, and the ability to source from alternative suppliers, a thorough understanding of the entire supply chain including air, sea, and land freight is paramount. Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate costs, and contracts, with a high level of numeracy & literacy is required.
