Overview
Our Client is a Specialist Grower and Supplier of Fresh Produce to the major retailers, food processors, and food manufacturers, with both whole produce & prepared products. We currently offer an exciting opportunity to join the business at an integral time as Quality Control Manager.
Working closely with the Technical Manager and across all departments (low-care & high-care) to include whole produce, grading, peeling & prepared divisions, the position of Quality Control Manager offers the opportunity to take responsibility for the QC team and manage the QMS, Health & Safety policies, HACCP, Audits to BRC standard, and liaise with colleagues across all departments to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. This position it critical to achieve a high level of product quality and will require confident, passionate, and effective communication ability to liaise with an array of customers when required.
Key responsibilities include;
HACCP management
QMS & Compliance management
Undertake BRC Farm Assurance Audits
Positive Quality / QC team management
Ensure product quality meets expectations
Manage, implement, and continuously improve Quality, Technical, and Health & Safety policies and procedures
We require;
Fresh Produce / Fresh Food experience, in both low-care & high-care environments
Experience in a similar QC / Quality Team Management position
Knowledge of expected Retail standards advantageous
Ability to work and manage in a fast paced environment
Confident BRC, HACCP, Health & Safety knowledge
Management of 3rd party Audits advantageous
A high level of communication skills
Confident IT skills
Hours; Monday – Friday, but flexibility required
Location: Essex
Salary: £40-45k
