Overview

Our client is one of the UK’s largest Importers and Distributors in their sector within the Food Industry, supplying a variety of customers nationwide, including the major retailers. We now offer an excellent opportunity for an experienced Specifications Technologist to join the business in a key position.

Reporting to the Senior Technical Manager, the Specifications Technologist position has the responsibility for the design and control function of all raw materials , ensuring all Bill of Materials are live , current and accurate containing the necessary detail for the production to complete all the operational processes.  To ensure that all products have a live specification for both raw and finished material and customer technical specifications are completed through to approval with the completion of pack copy and artwork sign off.

We are seeking an individual from the Food sector, manufacturing and/or distribution, that has previous experience in a Technical/Specifications role with an understanding of Bill of Materials, web based Specifications Systems such as TTL, Inspire etc, Auditing, HACCP and the importance of meeting the customer’s needs.

The incumbent could be expected to deputise for the Senior Technical Manager in a number of situations, including inspections by customers or regulatory bodies, and will normally play a key role in preparing for such inspections. The Technical function at the company is very much a team based operation, so it will be expected that the incumbent will work with and assist technical colleagues to achieve the overall goals of the department.  The incumbent should be prepared to undertake such extra tasks as reasonably requested by either the Senior Technical Manager or the Technical Director.
