Overview

We have the privilege of recruiting on behalf of one of the World’s largest Fresh Produce company’s and offer the opportunity of Technical Manager (Fresh Produce / Fruit) on their behalf.

Reporting to the Technical Director, the position of Technical Manager will be both supplier and retail customer focused, with the ability to communicate across both arenas.

Key responsibilities;

Liaise with retail customers to effectively communicate their requirements, expectations and concerns with procurement, commercial and technical teams

Management of overseas suppliers to incorporate; supplier approval, due diligence documentation, audits; BRC, Fairtrade

Liaise with certification bodies on Global Gap / BRC / SEDEX etc.

Line management for the source QC team, who are based overseas

We require;

Previous experience of managing staff/teams in an overseas capacity

Sound Technical knowledge and ability (Global Gap, BRC, SEDEX)

Experience within the Fresh Produce sector is essential / ideally Fruit knowledge

Flexibility to travel is key, with overseas travel and UK visits to growers/packhouses (average 2 nights a month in UK season)
