Overview

Our Client grows, packs, and distributes a wide range of Fresh Produce crops, supplying the wholesale, retail, and foodservice sectors. The business have expanded in their specialist area and currently offer the successful individual an exciting career opportunity within the company. We are seeking an Assistant Harvest Manager on their behalf in this key position, supporting the Farm Manager.

Reporting to the Farm Manager, the successful individual will assist in organising an efficient and accurate harvest of farm crops to meet tight deadlines & schedules. Assisting with the management of a dedicated team to ensure the availability of quality product / crop destined for the UK major retailers, ensuring all staff are trained and managed to a high standard, with Health & Safety maintained.

Key Responsibilities include:

To ensure correct health and safety protocols are maintained for the harvesting operations

Assist with identifying, training and supervising a team of field supervisors

Plan and co-ordinate the movement of people from field to field

Ensure the effective management of the piece work scheme

We require;
Fresh Produce sector experience (UK grown crops ideally)
Full understanding of a Fresh Produce harvesting / grower environment

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels

Motivating and encouraging staff management, to achieve expectational working standards and product quality

Strong understating of the techniques involved in supervising / managing a team within a harvesting / grower environment

Salary; £30-40k
