A market leader in their sector, our Client is an established and highly successful Fresh Produce importer, working with an exciting portfolio of products that are destined for the UK retailers. We are currently seeking an Quality and Ripening Manager to be based at a product dedicated site to strengthen their position with customers at an exciting time of expansion.

Working closely with the ripening team, the Quality and Ripening Manager will ensure that all aspects of product quality are effectively communicated to the Production & QA Manager’s, ensuring customer expectations & specifications are not being compromised and providing recommendations as required.

Main Responsibilities include;

Providing ripe stock quality status, availability and projected availability to the daily production meeting

Working closely with the Head of Quality, review monthly the ripening teams performance, KPI’s and hold appraisals

Recommend varietal usage for all added value lines and depot specific where appropriate

Manage the ripening team and provide cover to the QA team as required

Take an active involvement in decision making daily

We require;

Organised and methodical approach to raw materials management, allocation, & ripening

Ripening exposure, with an understanding of product stock, allocation, release, etc.

Knowledge of Fresh Produce / Fruit controls and processes

This position is varied and demanding, with the successful individual benefiting from an excellent career with a leading business within Fresh Produce supply, in a key position.

Hours; Monday – Friday

Salary; Up to £40k
