Overview
We currently offer a fantastic opportunity to join a successful Fresh Produce supplier, who are at the forefront of their product categories within the industry. We are seeking a Sustainability Coordinator to work within the technical division of the business, with a dedicated Sustainability focus.
The opportunity of Sustainability Coordinator will report to the Head of Technical and become a key member of the team, supporting her with the delivery of the Group Sustainable Development Strategy and Environmental Sustainability Policy.
The Sustainability Development role will assist in managing 4 key areas; Food Waste, Energy & Green House Gas (GHG) Emissions, Sustainable Agriculture, and Sustainability Insights, Data & Reporting.
Responsibilities include;
Manage and coordinate the publication of sustainability impact reports (food waste, greenhouse emissions and packaging) to demonstrate company performance and delivery against legislative, customer and UN SDG industry commitments
Implement the Operating Ethically policy and the Road Map and ensure that through all its activities acts in a sustainable way, adopting the UN SDGs targets, meeting relevant regulatory and customer requirements throughout the supply base.
Measure the field to fork sustainability performance, manage and coordinate the publication of sustainability impact reports (e.g., food waste, greenhouse emissions, water risks, and packaging)
Manage food waste data trending and reporting quarterly and continually review the company-wide Food Surplus and Waste Prevention hierarchy to identify, explore and investigate opportunities that will eliminate food waste
Manage supplier sustainability trackers, communicate best practice examples to demonstrate progress towards delivering the UN SDG and relevant customer targets
We require;
A Graduate with a relevant Food Science, Agriculture, Agronomy or Environmental Science, and Sustainability
At least 2 years’ experience within the Fresh Produce / Food / Agricultural sector.
Ability to communicate confidently at all levels, with professionalism and commitment
High level of Administration and team support ability in a fast paced environment
The ability to work accurately and with attention to detail being paramount
High IT competency; MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Hours; Monday – Friday, 8.00am – 5.00pm, with some flexibility required
