Our Client is a highly successful supplier of Fresh Produce to the retail sector, and as their partnership with their customers continues to grow, they offer the exciting opportunity of Ethical Compliance Manager, to join the ethical & compliance technical team in a crucial position.

 

The position of Ethical Compliance Manager will work as a key link with their growers for all aspects of ethical sourcing, tracking all suppliers progress in terms of compliant ethical audit booking, through to audit completion and publication on SEDEX. In such a fundamental position, the successful individual will be passionate, dedicated, and capable within their specialist arena, offering the ability to support associated sites with matters relating to ethical compliance and ensuring compliance with relevant requirements such as Human Rights Policies, GLAA, Modern Slavery Act. It is critical that excellence is achieved in this area to deliver industry leading standards and customer satisfaction.

Duties will include;

Complete accommodation risk assessments to evaluate risk in line with customer Human Rights Policies on accommodation

Review Fresh Produce suppliers / growers for compliance to the ETI Base Code and SMETA standards

Evaluate and manage the busines ethical strategy and code of practice to meet customer requirements

Be aware of and keep updated on emerging issues, managing future risks through positive actions

Working closely with suppliers, this position will; Manage the Ethical audit programme alongside the technical team & colleagues, Lead/manage third-party responsible sourcing audits such as SMETA, Assess current ethical sourcing status.

 

We require;

Fresh Produce / Food industry exposure

Proven successful experience gained in a similar ethical supplier compliance focused position

Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to work to a high standard in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge of ethical third-party auditing requirements/certifications, e.g. SMETA, SIZA, WEITA, RFA, FT and GRASP

Ability to communicate effectively, with a personable approach across all levels, with customer exposure/management highly advantageous

Pesticides knowledge/experience would be beneficial

 

Salary; £40-45k

Hours; Monday – Friday, 8.00am –  5.00pm, with some flexibility required
