Our Client is a successful supplier of Fresh Produce to the Retail sector. As their partnership with their customer grows, they offer the exciting opportunity for an Ethical Compliance Manager to join them in this new key position.
This Ethical Compliance Manager role is at the heart of what they do; it is the key link between their growers for all aspects of ethical sourcing. It is critical that they establish excellence in this area to deliver industry leading standards and customer satisfaction.
Working with the auditing team on accommodation risk assessment / Including risk assessments in the UK against UK legislation
The review of all fresh produce suppliers / growers for compliance to the ETI Base Code and SMETA standards
Attend relevant customer ethical conferences and seminars and update the team accordingly
Support the inhouse compliance team in other due-diligence requirements

Working closely with suppliers, this position will;
Manage the Ethical audit programme alongside the technical team & colleagues
Lead/manage third-party responsible sourcing audits such as SMETA
Ensure suppliers meet customers codes of practice
Assess current ethical sourcing status
Ideally Fresh Produce / Food industry exposure
Experience in a similar ethical compliance role
Pesticides knowledge/experience; trials, research, spray trials / application, crop management, breeding would be beneficial
Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to work to a high level administratively
An experienced individual within ethical issues / supplier compliance would be beneficial
Hours; Monday – Friday, 8.00am- 5.00pm, with some flexibility
Salary; up to £50k DOE
