Overview

Our Client has been providing transport services throughout Europe for over 30 years. The range of products handled includes fresh fruits and vegetables, frozen desserts, cut flowers, chocolates, and biscuits. In addition, their general cargo division moves non-food products such as engineering components, paper, building materials, publications and clothing.

This newly created position will lead and manage the Quality and Compliance systems ensuring that, across all operations, the systems and processes enable the company to meet or exceed its legislative, company and customer defined standards, particularly in relation to quality, are effectively monitored so that non-conformances are identified, and appropriate corrective action is recommended.

Responsibilities;

Manage the planning, review, recommendation and implementation of quality procedures and manuals that demonstrate the company’s compliance with legislative, industry and customer quality standards, such as BRC

Liaise with customers / suppliers as appropriate to support the recognition of the companies standards of compliance and respond to Audits

Lead and develop the group HACCP team to ensure the system is reviewed, relevant, implemented and complied with

Support the continuous improvement of process critical controls and food safety systems

Work with the Board of Directors to develop an effective compliance strategy in line with;

GDP Good distribution practice – Customs – Health and Safety – Environmental policy

We require;

Previous experience in a Compliance Management position, within Fresh Produce / Fresh / Frozen Food environments
Knowledge of and confident to work to & achieve BRC & TFS & Customer 3rd-party Audits
Exposure to QMS, HACCP, VACCP, TACCP, GMP and KPI management beneficial
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work at all levels
Driven, energetic, and passionate about achieving results

Hours; Monday – Friday, 8.00am – 5.00pm (working at home for 2 days a week is an option)

Salary; £35-45k – dependent on experience
