Overview
We currently offer the opportunity of Specifications Technologist to work with an established and highly successful Fresh Food supplier.
Reporting to the Senior Technical Manager the position of Specifications Technologist will take responsibility for all specifications and will include;
To write and update specifications ensuring they are in line with retailer requirements and supporting the NPD department in their day to day activities to prepare new products for launch.
Interact with suppliers, operations, NPD, Quality etc to request technical information comprised of nutritional, food safety and other significant data
Upload concise and accurate documents with acquired information to update and maintain the internal specification database whilst also completing Customer’s specification to a Gold standard and ensuring a new code of practice is followed.
Ensure that all specifications are aligned and up to date and submitted and signed off prior to product launch or product modification
To manage specification specific websites and databases
Support the NPD department with preparing to launch new products
We require;
Have a degree in food science, food technology, nutrition other related subjects
Proficient in working with multiple systems and data to generate detailed and accurate records for food ingredients
Experience with specification online systems and product specifications
Exposure to Food / FMCG sectors
High attention to detail
Exceptional IT skills
We are seeking an individual who is enthusiastic about Food and passionate about working in the Food industry.
This position is varied and offers the opportunity to work with a variety of teams & colleagues to develop key relationships, so excellent communication skills are key, alongside a confident and professional approach.
Hours; Monday – Friday
Salary; £25-30k dependent on experience offered
